Sorted by how much weight each tree holds. Base size and post thickness come from each model’s spec sheet.
What is the best cat tree for large cats?
For the heaviest cats or several cats at once, the B8201 has the highest weight capacity in our lineup: a 100 lb maximum holding weight on a 28" x 24" base, and its spec sheet lists it for "medium and large cats, multi-cat households." Our most-bought tree on this page is the A7407 (60 lbs, 28" x 24" base).
How much weight can these cat trees hold?
Between 60 and 100 lbs, depending on the model (1 at 100 lbs, 4 at 80 lbs, 2 at 75 lbs, 4 at 70 lbs, 9 at 60 lbs). The number is the tree's maximum holding weight from its own spec sheet, and each product page lists it.
How do I pick the right tree for a big cat or a multi-cat home?
Add up the weight of the cats that will be on the tree at the same time and choose a model whose maximum holding weight is above that total. Then look at the base: a wider base keeps a tall tree steady when a heavy cat jumps on or off. Every tree here has a base of at least 24" x 20". Most have 3.5" or thicker sisal posts; the compact 41-inch B4120 and B4109A have 2.75" posts.
Is this a different collection from your Cat Trees page?
No. These are the same Armarkat trees, picked out for large and heavy cats. You can see every size, from small apartment trees to floor-to-ceiling towers, on the Cat Trees page.
