The openings/spaces are more kitten-sized than cat-sized and two of our three are 10-pounds. They don't seem to like it as much since they can't fit in it as well as we'd thought they would. Maybe in time, they'll warm up to it.
This is the second time we have purchased this style of cat tree. It was easy to assemble and durable and safe for our cat. Our new kittens love to play on it and there is space for both.
I needed steps up to a window for my invalid cat and he loves this tree. He can climb up the steps to the window and then walk through the top tunnel to the bed. The only drawback is that the hoods are so small - I would have preferred just the steps for him to sleep on. The little houses are no good for anything above a 5 pound cat and the same for the ledges. Mine can sit on them, but not lie down. Still, it serves exactly the purpose for which I purchased it.,
My cat is 15 and I am using this as stairs to my bed and as a toy. He plays on it all the time, esp when i hide lil treats on it. He loves it. The stairs are slightly too close together though. I wish they were slightly more apart, but otherwise it works good :) They are wide neough for him to sit and lay down
this cat tree is more for smaller cats. It would be great for kittens. I have two big puffy girls and they can sit on it but not stretch out.
