Extra Large Perch

We needed a bigger perch for our long cat, so we purchased the extra-large perch to replace the perch that came with the deluxe cat tree we bought. The size is great for her but, due to the asymmetrical design of the tree, it makes the tree a bit unstable now. We can counter-balance the base with a weight, but it's something to consider if you have a heavier cat.

I ordered this piece to replace the top perch that came with the cat tree I purchased a couple years ago. My cat is a little...curvy :) and the original perch just wasn't quite big enough to hold her comfortably. This larger one is absolutely perfect!! She hangs out on that thing all day! I do agree with the other reviewers, it is a touch overpriced.

Dwarfs the standard perch that came with the tree. Our large cat immediately took to the larger size and sleeps comfortably in it... Very expensive (relative to the whole unit), but the cat is happy... so what are you going to do?... I absolutely agree with the review that says the large perch should be a "standard" option... it's far too expensive "a la carte".

Cat loves it, I love it, all God's children love it... What more can be said?

I like this size of perch so much I'm ordering a second one. I have 2 large cats and they just kind of hung over the standard perches. This has tons of room. At $39 a piece, though (reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is I think they're overpriced). I'm going to end up paying more for the perches than I did the entire tree. For that reason, I think that Armarkat should offer an option of ordering a tree with the standard OR the large perches. Now I will have 2 extra perches just sitting around. They're nice in that they're solid wood instead of the pressed wood, so I guess that is why they're so expensive.

The perches that came with the original cat tree were far to small for my large cat. She eventually stopped using the tree as she grew, but started using it again immediately after I installed the larger perch!

My Maine Coon cat loves his new perch. The one that came with our original purchase was great, but he just looked so big and hung over the sides. He feels very comfortable being elevated so he sat on the old one all the time, but once I changed out to the new one he seemed so much happier. He can wash himself, turn upside down, stretch out, and I think he likes that the sides are built up higher. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's a tad too big! so I rolled up a small towel and stuffed it up against the side to make the area just a bit more snug. Once he gets used to the new perch I may take the towel out and see how he does. Even though these climbers are large and noticeable, I'm glad that I purchased it. My cat plays on it, scratches his claws on the rope, sleeps on the top, it's perfect for him.

Large enough to accomadate my "large" cat. Soft and well contructed. Also very easy to put on. It is like having a new piece of cat furniture...but not.Took my cat a week to want to go on it. Cats don't adjust to change easily. Now she is comfortable and happy.
