Seven New Year's Resolutions to Make For Your Cat
Posted by Andrea on 29th Dec 2019
If you are like us, you are probably thinking about resolutions you can make for the New Year. But, you aren't the only one who can benefit from New Year's resolutions. If you set some goals for your fur family members, you will have an extra special New Year in 2020.
Here are a few that are easy to accomplish:
1. Get Back on Your Paws: Remember that kitties need their exercise as much as you do. They may love lounging in their Armarkat cat tree, but exercise will help trim those holiday treat pounds. Plus, it is the perfect way for you to bond with your feline family members. Find what toy and type of play appeals most by trying different kinds-- from laser pointers to feather wands.
2. Learn Something New: Though many don't think cats can learn tricks, your cat will indeed benefit from challenges and brain stimulation. Use the New Year to prove that cats can learn tricks, even if it's something as simple as coming when called. Your fur baby is capable of learning to high-five or fist bump, but only if you are patient and use treats as motivation.
3. Lead a More Enriching Life: Environmental enrichment is especially important to cats whose pet parents are out of the house for many hours at a time. You know your cat tree can provide hours of fun and entertainment for kitty, but don't forget there are other amusements that can reduce stress and make for happy felines. Cat videos, catnip toys, and cat treat balls are prime among them.
